TMA was established in 1987 as an IT and Management Consultancy business. Our head office is in Kingston Upon Thames and we maintain an office in Scotland.

The company's main activities are in Data Management, information provision and the use of Information Systems to provide competitive advantage to our customers. We aim to support our business customers through the optimal use of technology.

Our services include software, database and system development; providing application support; providing Data Management services; and providing Disaster Recovery services. TMA also provide licenses to enable our customers to use TMA Energy Management products - MeterPower - and our remote data retrieval application - Meter Data Retrieval, MDR.

History:
Originally established in 1987 as an IT and Management Consultancy firm TMA has, over the last decade, developed as a specialist provider of data management capability to the Utilities sector.

TMA first started providing solutions for participants in the Electricity market just after the advent of competition in the electricity supply market, which started with Controlled Market Start Up (CMSU) in 1998.

Present:
TMA continues to develop major applications for market participants. TMA also provides full support for applications we have developed for our customers.

Today TMA is an Elexon Qualified Agent, providing Party Agent services to Suppliers trading in the Non Half Hourly and Half Hourly electricity markets in Great Britain. In addition to standard Party Agent services that we provide to licensed electricity Supply companies we also provide a range of specialist services. Our specialist services include real time metering for high value energy sites and energy trading, demand forecasting, bill validation, DUOS bill validation, Settlement performance improvement projects, Data Management services, Automated Data Retrieval services, Smart Metering services and Disaster Recovery services.

We provide and support TMA products for clients under license agreements.

Our clients include major Electricity Supply companies, Energy management firms, Energy traders and Party Agents.

A recent development for TMA has been in establishing collaborative partnerships with other service providers where we and our partner organisations have complementary strengths. Recent collaborations have been most successful and we plan to build further collaborative partnerships where appropriate.

Future:
Energy is a central part of the working and domestic life of the country. As energy resources continue to be under increasing pressure from growing demand, fuel scarcity, high raw material costs, regional political instability and increasing demands for lower emissions, we see the requirements for ever higher data management standards and ongoing technical innovation expanding continuously.

The pressure to produce, distribute and use energy more efficiently and for all firms involved in the supply chain to operate more efficiently seems likely to get more and more intense.
